Spread the embers evenly behind and beside the burner bed.

Do not apply embers on the openings of the ember grates. Embers in the
openings of the ember grates can cause a blockage of the openings.
Put the charcoal pieces and chips of wood at the designated places around the
burner bed. Refer to

for the numbers of the items.
