HECKING THE
After turning on power to the BlackDiamond 6800 switch, each MSM64i performs a
power-on self test (POST) of its circuitry. The LED labeled "SYS" on the MSM64i blinks
amber during the POST. Once the MSM64i is operational, each I/O module performs a
POST.

ONNECTING
Connection to the console port is used for direct local management. The console port
settings are configured as follows:
• Baud rate — 9600
• Data bits — 8
• Stop bit — 1
• Parity — None
• Flow control — XON/XOFF
