PNEUMOCHECK ERROR MESSAGES

The liquid crystal display will show the word ERROR and a number,
e.g. "ERROR 2" when there is a problem with the instrument.
When an error message occurs, turn the PneumoCheck OFF and
then ON again to reset the microprocessor. Then check the calibra-
tion and recalibrate if necessary. If the PneumoCheck continues to
display ERROR, record the ERROR number and call your Welch
Allyn representative.

The amount of air (in liters) that was exhaled during
the first second of the FVC maneuver.
The total amount of air (in liters) that was exhaled
during the FVC maneuver.
The average flow (in liters per second) during the
middle half of the FVC maneuver.
The total amount of air (in liters per minute) that was
inhaled or exhaled during an MVV maneuver,
normalized to one minute. Example: 30 liters of air
over a 15 second period yields an MVV of 120 liters
per minute. (30 liters/l 5 seconds x 60 seconds/
minute = 120 liters/minute)
The highest instantaneous flow (in liters per second)
during an FVC maneuver.
The number of breaths (per minute) taken during
the timed MVV maneuver normalized to one minute.
The ratio of FEVl/FVC expressed as a percentage.
The duration (in seconds) of the MVV maneuver.
