Section 1.3 General Information Introduction The Welch Allyn Micro Tymp Tympanometric System enables the practitioner to per- form an objective test of the middle ear function. It provides fast and painless measure- ment on prevalent disease. Results appear instantly on the liquid crystal display and can be stored and printed in the Printer/Charger.

Section 2.3 Service Training When reading this manual for the first time, have a Micro Tymp 1 and Printer/Charger base available for reference and practice. But first, read each complete repair step on what to do and how to do it before starting the repair or practice.

MicroTymp 1 High Altitude Modification: When Required: The standard Micro Tymp 1 can be modified at the customers expense, to operate within specifications at high altitudes. This is the only Welch Allyn authorized modification and is recommended when MicroTymp 1 is to be used at higher altitudes. See Drawing 236250 on next page 20.1.

Section 6.1 Calibrator Testing Procedure for testing MT1 Calibrator Box ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS Check that all pins make good electrical contact. Place MicroTymp 1 in holding fixture T-5609. Set Box power switch to “OFF”. Connect BLACK 7.2 volt power supply lead to + battery contact. fig 6-1 Connect RED 3.6 volt power supply lead to long contact (back end of MT 1.) Connect GREEN Ground lead to side contact on T-5609.
