Install the blower tube, @ 6.9.

Disassembling the Blower

Preparations, @ 2.4.

Perform test with ADG 2 Analyzer, @ 5.
N
Remove right handle housing, @ 6.2.
N
Remove the blower tube, @ 6.3.
N
Remove the blower, @ 6.4
N
Remove the inlet cone, @ 6.5.
N
Remove the outlet cone, @ 8.2.
N
Use flat-nose pliers to pull the cover (2) out of the
N
blower (4), and pass the wires to the motor (3)
through the opening in the cover (2) at the same time.
The blower wheel (6) is press-fitted on the motor's shaft.
It can be removed with the puller screw. The puller screw
is supplied with the replacement blower wheel. Always
replace a blower wheel that has been removed.

Block the blower wheel (6) with the combination
N
wrench (10). Insert the combination wrench between
the blades and ribs in the blower housing (4).
Lubricate thread of puller screw (11) with STIHL
N
Multispray.
Screw the puller screw (11) into the blower wheel's
N
thread until the blower wheel is released from the
motor's shaft and can be removed.
Replace the blower wheel (6).

Removing the Motor

Disassemble the blower, @ 8.4.

Take out the screws (5).
N
Push the motor (3) out of the blower housing (4).

Installing the Motor

Fit the motor (3) in the blower housing (4). The exit
N
point for the wires (arrow) is at the bottom and the
cable guide (arrow) at the top.
If the original screws (5) are re-used: Coat threads of
N
screws (5) with Loctite 242.
Insert and tighten down the screws (5) firmly.

Assemble the blower, @ 8.7.

Assembling the Blower

The correct installed depth of the blower wheel (6) on the
motor's shaft is determined by the press screw. The press
screw is shorter than the puller screw. It is supplied with
the replacement blower wheel.

Examine blower housing and motor for signs of

contamination and clean if necessary.
Use press screw (13) 1122 893 7200 to support the
N
other end of the shaft (12). Take care not to damage
the wires.
