Use
In this waffle iron the batter is simultaneously baked on
both sides between the heated waffle plates. The degree of
browning of the waffles can be adjusted by setting the tem-
perature control.
Caution:
• Steam emerges from the side of the waffle iron during the
baking process. Do not touch - danger of scalding!
• The appliance becomes hot while in use. Make sure that
nobody touches the hot parts of the appliance while it is
in use. If necessary, use oven gloves and only touch the
appliance using the handle provided.
1.
Place the waffle iron on an even surface that is resist-
ant to heat and splashes.
2.
Close the waffle iron and insert the plug in a wall socket.
3.
Turn the temperature control to the medium-high set-
ting.
The red indicator light shows that the appliance is
heating up.
As soon as the selected temperature is reached, the
red indicator light goes off and the green one lights up.
The waffle iron is ready for baking.
4.
Unfold the upper part of the casing and grease the waf-
fle plates with a brush dipped in a bit of cooking oil.
5.
Put a spoon full of batter into the centre of each of the
lower baking plate halves.
Do not place too much batter or batter that is too liquid
into the waffle iron, otherwise too much steam and per-
haps also batter will emanate from the handle area.
6.
Fold down the upper part of the casing.
You can change the temperature at any time while bak-
ing.
After a few moments, the green indicator light goes out
and the red indicator light turns on. The waffle iron is
now baking.
At the end of the baking process, the green indicator
lamp lights up again. If the waffle is not brown enough,
let it bake a moment longer.
Caution: To avoid damaging the non-stick coating of the
waffle plates, only use heat-resistant wooden or plastic
utensils to remove the waffles.
7.
Lift up the upper part of the waffle iron as soon as the
waffle is ready, and take the waffle out.
To do so, slightly lift the waffle on one side using a fork
or similar and take it out using a turner.
If a waffle has become too light or too dark, choose a
slightly higher or lower temperature for the next waffle
or let the waffle bake a little longer or shorter.
After a couple of waffles, you will find the setting that
is exactly right for the way you like your waffles.
However, it also depends on the type and consistency
of the batter.
At the beginning it can take a bit longer for the waffles
to be finished. If you use the waffle iron for a longer
period of time, the baking period will decrease.
After the appliance is heated up, you can pour in the
batter for the next waffle immediately.
8.
After use, remove the mains plug from the socket and
allow the appliance to cool fully before cleaning it.
Cleaning
Danger:
• Allow the appliance to cool fully before cleaning it or storing
it away. Do not carry the waffle iron when it is full or
switched on or if it has not yet fully cooled.
• Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
Caution:
• Do not use rough or abrasive cleaning products or
sponges on the non-stick coating of the waffle plates and
on the outer surfaces of the waffle iron, as this may cause
damage.
1. Unplug the waffle iron.
2. Remove crumbs from the waffle plates.
3. Wipe the waffle plates and the casing of the waffle iron
with a slightly damp cloth.
4. Then dry the waffle plates and the casing with a soft
cloth.
Remains of batter that have burned into the waffle plates
can be removed easily by slightly greasing them with cook-
ing oil. After a few minutes the batter remains can be easily
removed.
After cleaning, the power cord can be wrapped around the
cord storage on the underside of the appliance.
To store the waffle iron in a space-saving way, you can place
it on end onto its handles.
