Safety warnings
Intended use
The waffle iron is designed to make sweet and savoury waf-
fles.
It is designed for household quantities and is not suited for
commercial purposes.
Hazard to children and persons unable to use electrical
appliances safely
• This appliance is not intended for use by children and per-
sons with restricted capabilities. It must only be used by
persons who are able to use the appliance safely.
• Keep children away from the packing material.
Risk of suffocation!
Electrical hazards
• Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
The appliance must not be used in the direct vicinity of
a sink or outdoors.
• Only connect the appliance to a socket with earthing con-
tacts that matches the technical data of the appliance.
• Unplug the waffle iron after use, before cleaning it and
before storing it away. Always pull the plug, not the power
cord.
• Do not use the appliance, if it or the power cord show any
visible signs of damage or if the appliance has been
dropped.
• Do not make any modifications to the appliance or to the
power cord. Do not attempt to replace the power cord
yourself. Have repairs carried out in a specialised work-
shop. Improper repair may result in considerable risk of
injury to the user.
• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the
manufacturer's customer service or a similarly qualified
person to avoid hazards.
Risk of burns / scalding
• The appliance becomes hot while in use. Make sure that
nobody touches the hot parts of the appliance while it is
in use. If necessary, use oven gloves and only touch the
appliance using the handle provided.
• Allow the appliance to cool fully before cleaning it or storing
it away. Do not carry the waffle iron when it is full or
switched on or if it has not yet fully cooled.
• Steam emerges from the side of the waffle iron during the
baking process. Do not touch - danger of scalding!
Caution - material damage
• Do not leave the appliance unattended while in use.
• Fully unwind the power cord before use to prevent ove
heating. Make sure that the power cord is safely posi-
tioned. Never let it hang down from the table edges. Make
sure that the power cord does not become a stumbling
trap and that it is out of the reach of children.

• Keep the power cord away from hot appliance parts or
other sources of heat.
• Place the appliance on a level surface that is resistant to
heat and splashes. Do not place it on a surface that could
become hot, e.g. hot plates or next to the flame of a gas
cooker. Always place it at a safe distance from the edge
of the worktop, so that it cannot fall down.
• The appliance is fitted with non-slip rubber feet. Furniture
is often coated with various varnishes and synthetic sub-
stances and are treated with a number of different pre-
servative agents. Some of these products may contain
substances that corrode and soften the rubber feet.
If necessary place an anti-slip mat under the appliance.
• Keep flammable material away from the appliance and
do not cover it.
• To avoid damaging the non-stick coating of the waffle
plates, only use heat-resistant wooden or plastic utensils
to remove the waffles.
• Do not use rough or abrasive cleaning products or
sponges on the non-stick coating of the waffle plates and
on the outer surfaces of the waffle iron, as this may cause
damage.
• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (includ-
ing children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless
they have been given supervision or instruction concern-
ing use of the appliance by a person responsible for their
safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not
play with the appliance.

Before first-time use
There will be a slight smell when the waffle iron is heated
for the first time. Ensure that there is sufficient ventilation,
for example open a window.
Before baking a waffle for the first time with your new
waffle iron, you must heat it up once without batter.
Possible manufacturing residue will be removed by doing
so.
1. Remove all packaging material.
2. Unfold the upper part of the casing.
3. Wipe the waffle plates with a damp cloth.
