Clearing Paper Jams and Other Problems
Operational problems
Problem
The On Line light doesn't
come on when you turn on
the printer.
The On Line light is off and
the printer doesn't print.
The On Line light is on, but
nothing prints.

Solving Operational Problems

If the printer won't print, try the suggestions in this section. If you're using
the RIP, check the RIP Station 5000 User Guide for additional
troubleshooting suggestions.
Possible cause
The power cord is not connected
securely.
The outlet is controlled by an outside
switch or automatic timer.
The printer is off line.
The printer is not securely connected
to the RIP or to your network.
An error has occurred.
Your PPD and/or printer driver
software are not set up correctly.
Your printer doesn't have enough
memory to handle the volume of data
in your document.

Solution
Turn off the printer and make sure the
power cord connections are secure.
Then turn the printer back on.
Make sure the switch is turned on and
the outlet is working.
Press the On Line button.
Check the connections. See the RIP
Station 5000 Setup Guide for
instructions.
Check the message on the control
panel display. See Chapter 2 for more
information about control panel
messages.
Make sure your software is installed
correctly and the RIP or printer is
selected. See the RIP Station 5000
Setup Guide for instructions.
Try reducing the image resolution of
your document, or install more
memory in the printer.
