Solving Problems

If you have a problem with your Stylus Photo RX700, check the messages on the
RX700 screen, run a nozzle check (see page 72), or see "Problems and Solutions"
below.
Tip:
It's a good idea to check Epson's web site periodically for possible updates to your
software. Visit http://support.epson.com and check the section for your product to see
if there is new software available for downloading to your computer.

Check the solutions below if you're having trouble using your RX700.

Setup and Software Installation Problems

The Stylus Photo RX700 makes noise after you turn it on.
■
Make sure the scanner lock is in the unlocked position, as shown on the Start
Here sheet. After releasing it, turn off the RX700, wait a moment, then turn it
back on.

It is normal for the RX700 to make whirring sounds after you turn it on.
The Stylus Photo RX700 makes noise after ink cartridge installation.
■
When you install ink cartridges, the RX700 must charge its ink delivery
system. This takes about 3½ minutes. Do not turn off the RX700, or it will
use extra ink the next time you turn it on.

Make sure no packing tape or material remains inside the RX700. Turn it off,
wait a moment, then turn it back on.
