Marker Position Switch

FIG. 22: As the planter frame hitch cylinder extends, the

marker position switch (1) opens, disconnecting the

marker raise/lower circuit. When the frame is unfolded

and the hitch is level with the frame, the position switch is

closed, permitting normal marker operation.

The tri-fold breakaway marker includes a notched disc.

When the breakaway marker makes contact with a solid

obstruction, the shear bolt can give with some resistance

and break.

FIG. 23: The markers are protected with a 3/8 x 3 Inch

Grade 5 shear bolt (1) and lock nut.

Tighten the lock nut to 42 Nm (23 lbf ft).

IMPORTANT: Replace only with the correct size and

grade.

NOTE: Use a bolt with a shoulder, and not a full threaded

bolt.
