BBIC
PMB4729 manufactured by Infineon
GAUSSIAN FILTER
Gaussian filter is used for pulse shaping of TXDA signal that is sent from BBIC to RF module.
LEVEL SHIFTER
Level shifter is used for voltage matching of RXDA from RF module to BBIC.
RSSI HOLD CIRCUIT
RSSI signal from RF module is hold at this circuitry and fed to A/D port of the CPU.
RF MODULE (SEE BLOCK DIAGRAM Fig 11.2)
The RF Module consists of two main components: PMB6610 transceiver and PMB6819 POWER
AMP. / In the transceiver, the 10.368MHz clock signal SYCL is multiplied to approx 1.9GHz using
PLL (Phase Locked Loop) control. / The TXDA signal is used to control the modulation of this
frequency to 1.87GHz to 1.93GHz. / Received signals are demodulated, filtered and sent to the
BBIC via the RXDA line. / The RSSI (Radio Signal Strength Indicator) signal enables the
implementation of diversity switching whereby two antennas can be mounted in different
orientations and their signals compared. The one with better reception will be selected by the
BBIC using the ANT1 and ANT2 lines.

12.6. POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT

3.3V, 2.5Vand 5V is generated in CS. 3.3V is the power supply for logic circuit and RF module.
2.5V is used as the power supply of FPGA internal core. 5V is the power supply for DNIC and
HDLC IC.
