SCOTT MX UNDERSHORTS
• I. INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on choosing this quality SCOTT product. Before use, please read the fol-
lowing instructions carefully. Please keep these instructions in safe custody. This specif-
ic product line has been developed to offer you the best comfort and an engineered fit.
• II. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS
The textile of the SCOTT MX Shorts are considered to be items of Personal Protector
Equipment (PPE) of Category II and as such are subject to the requirements laid down
by the European directive 89/686/EEC.
The protectors in this information sheet undergo EC certification, Ricotest (NB 0498),
via Tione9, 37010 Pastrengo, Italy which certifies that our products meet the require-
ments of directive 89/686/EEC.
The protection pads in these MX Shorts as PPE of Category II have been examined and
certified according to EN 1621-1:2012 Level 1.
• III. INTENDED USE
This protector is strictly limited for the respective use and temperatures indicated by
the pictograms on the approval label (see chapter VI. Info on product). The protector is
explicitly not to be used above or below indicated temperatures, nor for other kinds of
sports (off road motocross).
• IV. USER RESTRICTIONS
APPLICATION AREA 
Those SCOTT protectors are designed and manufactured to provide limited protec-
tion against the risk of impact in the event of a fall. They provide this mentioned lim-
ited protection only in areas covered by the plastic plates. SCOTT Sports SA shall not
accept any complaints arising from the use of this product where the pads and the
plastic plates are not applied. The SCOTT protectors are not known to undergo alter-
ation from contact with sweat or with substances likely to be found in toiletries and are
not known to cause any harm to human skin and body. The product does not contain
any hazardous substances.
LIMITATION OF USE
HIP PROTECTOR
These protectors do not safeguard against traumas caused by twisting, torsion or
extreme movements. They provide this mentioned limited protection only in areas
covered by the plastic plates. SCOTT Sports SA shall not accept any complaints aris-
ing from the use of those products where the pads and the protection plates have not
been applied.
MISUSES 
Bending or twisting the protector excessively is considered improper use and it may
cause the loss of protection properties or breakage of the gear.
We recommend that the protector is not left outside or exposed to high or low tem-
peratures before use. During use the protector temperature must not drop below
-20°C. Changes in environmental conditions such as temperature and wetness could
significantly reduce the performance of the protector. Product modifications may cause
