    Surge Brake Hitch Maintenance SECTION 3 SURGE BRAKE HITCH MAINTENANCE Clean and repack the trailer axle wheel bearings with lithium grease every 12 months or 12,000 miles (19,308 km), whichever comes first. Make sure that the trailer tires are correctly inflated to the pressure shown on the tire.
