PUTTING IT INTO SERVICE
33 First start-up
Once all checks have been performed, the unit can be start-
ed:
– close the door of the electrical cabinet
– set the main switch to ON
– display the water temperature and the type of operation
of the machine
– check the set operating parameters (set-point)
– reset any alarms
Refer to the Control Panel Manual to carry out the oper-
ations.
Checks with the machine switched on
After starting up, check that
• the current draw of the compressor is lower than the max-
imum indicated in the technical specifications table
• the supply voltage value is within the set limits and does
not fall below the nominal value during compressor op-
eration -10 %
• in models with three-phase power supply, the compressor
noise level is not abnormal
• the three-phase supply has a maximum unbalance be-
tween phases of 3%
• the appliance operates within the recommended operat-
ing conditions (see technical specifications table)
• the hydraulic circuit is completely deaerated
• the voltage value is within the set limits
34 Primary circulation pump P1
The P1 primary circulation pump (class A inverter) is start-
ed when a request for hot water (reading of T3 positioned
in the ACS tank) or from the system (reading of T1 posi-
tioned in the separator) is received.
It may be managed using three algo-rithms which can be set
using the specific PMS parameter of the controller:
• According to the default setting
• operation with "continuous"
• tim "energy saving" operation
According to the default setting, the pump operates in nor-
mal "on demand" in cooling or heating when the pump is ac-
tive only when requested by the temperature regulator (*)
and if the TA selection, "hot water only", is open the pump
runs the cycles only when requested by the regulator ac-
cording to the reading of hot water sensor T3.
(*) the circulator starts 20 seconds before the other two out-
puts and is switched off with a two minute delay.
"Continuous" operation means that the pump operates unin-
terruptedly for as long as the instrument is activated.
Tim "energy saving" operation means that in addition to the
normal request of the regulator it runs cycles consisting of 2
38
• the presence of any refrigerant gas leaks, especially at the
pressure connections of pressure gauges, pressure trans-
ducers and pressure switches
• the air-to-water heat pump performs a shutdown and
subsequent restart
Thermal gradient
Check that the thermal gradient between the plant delivery
and return is between 4÷7°C.
Set a lower circulator speed if the thermal gradient is less
than 4 °C.
If the thermal gradient is greater than 7 °C check that all the
valves on the plant are open and if necessary add an external
pump to increase the water flow rate.
If the mains pressure exceeds 3 bar, install a pressure reducer
on the filling line.
Pressure drop
If higher heads are required due to high pressure drops in
the plant, add an external pump with a relative buffer vessel.
Presence of air
Check that no air pockets are still present once the electri-
cal connections have been established and the circulation
pump has been switched on.
In the presence of air pockets:
• stop the pump several times
• vent again
To avoid dangerous cavitation that could damage the
pump and make the entire appliance less efficient, the
suction pressure, with the pump on, measured by the
pressure gauge on the appliance, must not be less than
0.6 bar.
minutes ON and 5 minutes OFF when the temperature regu-
lator condition is satisfied.
These functions can be activated through the specific pa-
rameter by the authorised Technical Service Centre.
If the boiler function CAL is enabled is enabled and the
AUXILIARY HEATER is switched to the heating pump and
the device is set in standby. The "CAL" prompt appears on
the display and is only the SAN output is activated, always
con-trolled by the T3 sensor.
The pump output is always activated in case of antifreeze
alarm detected by the sensors T2 or T3.
