10.4 Configuration
1. Start the PLC – VCom application, if this is not already running.
2. Open the PLC-VCOM by clicking on the icon
PLC-VCOM in the system tray.
3. After the PLC-VCOM is open, click in the status area on the "Configure" and the wizard to configure is
launched.
10.4.1 MPI-II
10.4.1.1 Automatic
1. By clicking on the "Search" you send a broadcast to all cables and modules, which are located on your
network or connected directly to the computer. Each, on this broadcast, reacting cable / module will be
added to the list of participants.
2. Select the desired cable / module, so it is highlighted in blue.
Here, all parameters are automatically included in the configuration wizard.
10.4.1.2 Manual
The manual entry refers to users who are behind the router, in other networks, because the router does
not transmit the broadcast for the automatic recognition so that these users are not recognized This point
is not noted for USB devices, because these are all directly connected to the computer.
10.4.1.3 Final settings
3. Select the options that you may need, eg no network card selection, no network, installation in the
device manager or serial interval times.
In the chapter "Overview" of the PLC-VCOM will receive information about the options that with the help of
the checkboxes you can select and unselect
4. Confirm your entries/selection with "OK".
5. In the main window of the PLC-VCOM appears after a successful connection, the type of cable will
connect to the computer and the connection status "connected".
6. Finally, click on "Minimize" to the PLC-VCOM to shrink in the info area so that it can continue managing
the virtual COM port.
