STORAGE

SHUTTING THE MACHINE OFF FOR OVER 4 HOURS
If the machine is to be shut off for over 4 hours, ensure the carburettor is as clean as possible by performing the
following:
When the engine is running, close the fuel valve and leave the engine running until it has consumed all of the
fuel in the carburettor.
This will ensure that your machine will always start up smoothly.
STORAGE DURING EXTENDED PERIODS
When leaving the machine in storage for long periods of time, empty the tank and carburettor of any fuel before
cleaning thoroughly.
First, we recommend you remove the spark plug. Then pour a little of the same oil used in the engine into the
hole of the cylinder in which the spark plug is located.
After pouring the oil in, loosely replace the spark plug, grab the starter cord by the grip and pull it a few times in
order to leave a layer of oil on the liner and the piston to prevent rusting.
Then tighten the spark plug.
NOTE: Do not leave the machine outdoors. Do not store the machine near livestock or in humid conditions, as
this may lead to corrosion.
READ THE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (pp. 27 and 28)
TRANSPORT
Take the following precautions if transporting the machine in a vehicle to an area other than the one to be
worked on.
· Empty the petrol tank.
· Ensure the vehicle transporting the machine is well ventilated.
· Secure the machine inside the vehicle to stop it moving or toppling over during transport.
· READ THE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS (pp. 27 and 28)

PERIODICAL MAINTENANCE

Check the engine oil before each use and add more if necessary (p.31).
Replace the engine oil after the first 8 hours of operating the machine. After this, change the oil every 50
hours. (p. 40)
Clean the air filter (p. 39) once a day or every 10 hours if working in very dusty conditions.
