When working on sloping surfaces, ensure the tank is not completely full. Use the correct quantity
of fuel to ensure that it doesn't spill from the vent. Do not use the machine on very steep slopes.
Never start up the engine in closed, poorly-ventilated spaces, given that the gases in the exhaust
pipe contain carbon monoxide, which is poisonous and may even prove fatal.
The machine must therefore never been stored with fuel in the tank in closed or poorly-ventilated
spaces, nor in places in which fuel gases may come into contact with an open flame, sparks or pilot
lights, such as gas or water heaters, ovens or clothes dryers, etc.
When storing the machine after use, never cover it with materials such as plastic, bags or blankets
until it has completely cooled to ensure it doesn't catch fire.
Never use the machine around people or animals. Maintain a distance of at least 8 metres to ensure
animals are not caught by the blades or hit by objects removed by them.
Never position hands or feet under the machine when the engine is running.
Take extreme caution when cleaning or touching the blades. The blades are extremely sharp. Wear
sturdy gloves. Never touch the blades while the engine is running. If the machine has been in use,
for safety reasons wait a few moments before touching the blades, as they may continue to rotate
for a few seconds. For added safety, remove the spark plug clamp and keep it away from the spark
plug while handling the blades. Failure to do so may result in serious injury, and even death.
Always use the machine in daylight or under good artificial lighting.
When operating the machine, refrain from touching any part of the engine, especially near the
exhaust pipe, as, despite the protector, this may lead to burns. Always allow the machine to cool
completely after use before touching any part of it that may have become heated.
When lifting or transporting the machine, always ensure the engine has been shut off. Remove the
spark plug cap and always use sturdy gloves.
Do not use couplers or make modifications to any part of your machine without prior written con-
sent from V.H. Maquinaria S.L., as any non-authorised modification may mean your machine does
not conform to safety standards.
The machine must be used as shipped and for the purposes described in this manual. Otherwise,
all liability is declined.
