PREPARING THE MACHINE FOR USE

ADDING OIL TO THE ENGINE CRANKCASE.
The engine oil and oil level are critical to ensuring good engine performance and more particularly, its longevity.
It is therefore important to use a detergent oil, such as a 10w40 (see P.-40).

Oil filling
As shown in fig. 1, remove the oil cap, place the engine on a completely flat surface and fill the tank with oil up
to the edge of the filling hole.
* The use of gloves is recommended for handling oil or fuel, as these substances may be extre-
mely harmful to skin when in prolonged contact with it. If you are not wearing gloves and splash
your hands, quickly wash them with soap and water.
* We do not recommend disposing of used oil along with household waste or throwing it on the
ground. It should instead be stored in a sealed container and taken to a waste
NOTE: Scarifier-removers feature a 4-stroke engine and cannot be used on slopes exceeding a 20% gradient, as
this would make the oil shift to one side and ruin the engine.

CHECKING THE AIR FILTER

Always check that the air filter (fig.2) is clean and free of blockages before using the machine. Clean or replace
the parts if necessary. (See p. 39 on maintaining the air filter)
FILLING THE FUEL TANK
UNLEADED PETROL must be used in the engine. Do not mix oil with petrol.
Remove the cap from the tank and only fill it with petrol (tank capacity 6.1
