SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

"BENZA" scarifier-removers are designed with sufficient safety measures to ensure no problems or
accidents shall be encountered or incurred when operating them, as long as all of these measures
remain in place and the instructions in this manual are followed.
Before operating the machine, please read the instruction manual in full. Failure to do so may
jeopardise the machine's physical integrity and useful life.
Minors are not permitted to use the machine, nor is anyone who has not read the manual and
familiarised themselves with its contents prior to use.
Do not use the machine if tired or ill. Do not use the machine after consuming alcohol or taking
medication.
Before starting up the engine, always perform an inspection of the engine and the machine itself.
Check that none of the nuts and bolts have come loose. This will prevent accidents or damage to
the machine.
Before operating the machine, familiarise yourself with its workings in order to be able to shut it off
abruptly if a problem emerges.
Always inspect the surface to be worked on and remove any stones, branches, pieces of plastic or
any other object that might get under the machine.
Always wear a mask to avoid inhaling the dust produced while operating the machine. Do not wear
baggy clothing and always wear safety glasses and shoes along with long trousers when operating
the machine.
SUPPORTING THE MACHINE'S TRACTION OR ROTAVATOR HANDLES WITH AN OBJECT
MUST NOT BE ATTEMPTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. These handles serve as a safety system
incorporated into the machine to halt the blades and prevent the machine from automatically mo-
ving forward the moment the hands are removed from the handlebar. FAILURE TO OBSERVE THE
ABOVE MEANS ANY ACCIDENTS THAT OCCUR WILL BE THE COMPLETE LIABILITY OF THE USER.
Move the machine to an open space before refuelling the engine.
Do not leave petrol within the reach of children.
As the fuel is highly flammable and may easily explode, refrain from placing flammable objects
near the machine, smoking or igniting anything that may cause sparks. Do not under any circum-
stances attempt to gauge the level of fuel in the tank with a lit object, such as a lighter or matches,
etc.
