Maintenance cycle
SIRIUS Contactors
• Replacing SIRIUS 3RT103 and 3RT107
contactors when the contact reach 100%
of wear (support with contact plate fully
eroded).
Changing contact steps:
– replacing mobile and fixed contacts
– replacing chutes.
Always use original Siemens spare parts.
For correct contactor operation, it is
necessary to follow these instructions:
• Do not clean the contacts with abrasive
paper, files or chemical products; do not
grind the contacts
• Do not grease or lubricate
any contactor part or component. Alcohol
based substances damage mechanical
parts, while oil-based substances may
increase electrical arc switching off time
(resulting in a shorter electrical service
life and the risk of malting due to
overheating)
• Making sure auxiliary voltage not
exceed the established limits
• Making sure the control contacts are
safe and efficient
• Do not drop foreign objects into the
device
• Checking contact functionality and level
of wear after a short circuit
• According to the necessary "plant
availability" level, it is important consider
the proper type of coordination (Type 1
or Type 2 according CEI EN 60947-4-1)
between the contactor and the protection
device.
Terminal strips
• For terminal strips with conductors up
, we recommend checking
to 35 mm
2
correct tightening according to the torque
values written inside catalogues.
• Checking the labelling readability of the
terminals and eventually restore it.
Accessories
• Checking auxiliary circuits
• Checking conductor tightening
• Checking fuse, relay and contactor
indicator lamp numbering
• When use capacitor for power factor
compensation, checking any overheating.
