Printer / Serial Output

The Model 8500AV Oximeter provides output capability to a custom printer interface via the 9 pin Sub-D connector on
the top. This connector serves as a sensor input connector as well as a printer interconnect device. The 9 pin Sub-D
connector pin assignments are as listed in Table II.

Note: The 9th data bit is used for parity in memory playback mode. In real time mode it is always set to the mark
condition. Therefore the real time data may be read as 8 data bits, no parity.
b. Serial Rate Mode: (Real-time mode)
Data is output once per second as: SpO2=xxx HR=yyy C/R
where xxx is O2 saturation 0-100 or --- if no data available
where yyy is pulse rate 0-450 or --- if no data available
