CAUTION: Risk of damaging the fans if two power supplies are connected at the same time:
Do not connect fans' 10VDC output to the controller if the controller is powered from an external power
CAUTION: Risk of damaging the sensor if the controller power supply voltage exceeds the maximum
Check the sensor voltage input rating before connecting it to the controller.
CAUTION: Risk of damaging the controller's 0-10V input. Any signals higher than 10V may damage the 0-
Check the sensor voltage output range before connecting it to the controller.
To use the controller with multiple sensors please see Section 8.0 Multi-Sensor Operation for more information.
See Section 6.0 Pressure Sensor Connections where it shows how to correctly install the pressure sensor to the
fan and/or the equipment.

5.6 Modbus relay operating mode

The controller can be installed on an RS485 Modbus network and configured to act as a relay between the fans
and Modbus Master device e.g. BMS. In Modbus Relay operating mode the controller ceases all control and monitor
operations and becomes a relay for messages and commands between the Modbus Master device.
This operating mode allows exclusive access to all Modbus registers on each fan according to the latest ebm-papst
parameter specification for Modbus enabled motors. A copy of this parameter specification is available on request
by e-mail at info@uk.ebmpapst.com.
See Appendix G – Example of Modbus Relay Operation for a working example of the Modbus Relay operation.

Pressure Sensor Connections

For a constant volume, or a volume monitoring system the differential pressure sensor must measure the pressure
difference between the fan inlet ring tapings and the fan air supply side. This is different for a constant pressure, or
a pressure monitoring system where the inlet ring is not required, and the sensor must measure the pressure
difference between the fan air supply and the fan exhaust. The figure below shows exactly where to connect the
differential pressure sensor positive and negative tapings:
