To use Eicon Network Management Services and the Eicon SNMP Console, you must
already have installed:
• TCP/IP Protocol options in Windows 2000/XP
• SNMP Service option in Windows 2000/XP
Consult the Windows 2000/XP online help for information on how to install and
configure TCP/IP and SNMP services.

Eiconcard Connections for Windows 2000/XP - P-Series

• IBM-compatible, LAN-attached computer running Microsoft Windows 2000
(Professional, Server, Advanced Server, or Datacenter Server) or Windows XP
Professional. The computer must meet at least the minimum system requirements for
the version of Microsoft Windows 2000/XP that it is running.
Note that the Windows 2000 Server family supports both static and dynamic routing,
while Windows 2000 Professional provides only static routing.
• Mouse or compatible pointing device
• CD-ROM drive (required for installation)
• 5MB of available hard-disk space
• A supported Eiconcard P-Series: see
• A synchronous modem (or CSU/DSU for Frame Relay access)
Also, depending on the type of connections you want to make, you may need the following:
To make PPP dial-up connections:
• Windows 2000/XP Routing and Remote Access Service
• A dedicated or switched dial-up synchronous PPP line
To make Frame Relay router connections:
• A dedicated or switched dial-up synchronous Frame Relay line
