For S5x Eiconcards
1. Make sure that you have installed and connected the Eiconcard in your computer as
described in the installation guide included with your Eiconcard.
2. Start your computer and log on as Administrator or equivalent.
3. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
4. Double-click Add/Remove Hardware.
5. Click Next.
6. Select Add/Troubleshoot a device, and click Next.
7. In the Devices list, select Add A New Device, and click Next.
8. Select No, I want to select the hardware from a list, and click Next.
9. Under Hardware Types, select Network Adapters, and click Next.
10. Click Have Disk, browse to the Windows\W2k-XP\Connections for Windows 2000-XP
folder on the Universal Connections Suite CD, and click OK.
11. Follow the instructions presented on your screen.
12. Install any optional Eiconcard Connections software that you may want to use. It is
recommended that you install optional software before you configure your
Eiconcard(s).
13. Configure the Eiconcard(s). See the online help for instructions on how to configure
your Eiconcard(s).

Installing under Windows XP

Note: This procedure pertains to all Eiconcard models, except Eiconcard S5x .
1. Ensure that you have installed and connected the Eiconcard in your computer as
described in the installation guide included with your Eiconcard.
2. Start your computer and log on as Administrator or equivalent. Windows XP will detect
the new hardware and start the 'Found New Hardware Wizard'.
3. In the first panel of the 'Found New Hardware Wizard', insert the Universal
Connections Suite CD into the CD-ROM drive on your computer, select Install the
software automatically (Recommended).
4. Click Next and follow the instructions that appear on the screen.
If, for any reason, you abort the installation procedure before it has completed, running
ECUPDATE will correctly install the latest drivers. To run ECUPDATE, follow the steps
below:
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. In the Run box, type d:\windows\w2k-xp\connections for windows 2000-xp\
ecupdate.exe (where d: corresponds to the drive letter assigned to your CD-ROM
drive).
3. Click OK. This will update all Eiconcard Connections for Windows 2000/XP files to
the latest version.
