Use for replacement the 250 W C-Band RF Module, ADVANTECH P/N 200-615600-001 made
out of DRIVER (P/N 200-110632-001) and POWER MODULE (P/N 200-114600-003). As the
driver and the power module have been tuned together for optimal performances, it is
recommended that the entire RF Module (Driver plus Power Module) be replaced at one time.
In order to remove and replace the RF Module, follow the next procedure:
- shut-off the unit from the circuit breaker and unplug the unit from the primary AC
power outlet;
- remove the DRIVER electrical connections from J4: A2-P4 and from TB1(+12V) and
SC1 (+12V RET), noting the place and the position of each removed connection in order
to be able to re-place them exactly in the same place and in the same position for each
connection;
- remove the RF INPUT semi-rigid cable at J1 (SMA-connector);
- remove the POWER MODULE electrical connections from J3: A9-P1 and from
TB1(+12V, the six screws holding the power bar) and SC1 (+12V RET), noting the place
and the position of each removed connection in order to be able to re-place them exactly
in the same place and in the same position for each connection;
- remove the OUTPUT POWER DETECTOR connector (with yellow and black wires),
noting the place and the position of the removed connection in order to be able to re-place
it exactly in the same place and in the same position;
- remove the RF OUTPUT POWER MONITOR semi-rigid cable at J5 (SMA-connector);
- remove the RF OUTPUT W/G connection at J6 (W/G output with 4 #6 screws) and
keep the elastomer gasket for re-installing;
- remove the OUTPUT W/G assembly between the POWER MODULE and the
circulator (4 # 6 screws) and keep in place the elastomer gasket for re-installing;
- remove all screws on the DRIVER and on the POWER MODULE that keep these
blocks on the heat-sink;
- remove the defective RF Module (Driver and Power Module) by un-screwing all #6
screws that bind the two modules to the heat-sink; leave all #4 screws in place, as they
are used for the covers only;
- spread a thin and uniform layer of 340 heat-sink compound on the heat-sink (for a good
thermal contact);
