GROUND PREPARATION

Important note: The area under the pool must meet the following essential
conditions:
It must be horizontal,
i.e. within a maximum tolerance of 2.5 cm for the transverse dimension of the pool.
It must be provided with a thin layer of sifted sand,
i.e. that the sand evens out minor surface irregularities created after the use of
work tools (pickaxes, hoes, ...) and covers the entire area of the pool with a layer of
no more than 2 cm.
It must be firm,
i.e. so strong that a person weighing at least
80 kg does not leave visible marks on the surfa-
ce.
1. MARK THE AREA
a. Hammer a peg into the ground in the inten-
ded centre of the pool (see Figure 2-1).
b. Tie one end of the string on the peg and tie
the other end to a can of sand or lime, flour,
etc., by which you mark a circle on the ground.
The radius of the foundation will be 15 cm
larger than the radius of the pool itself (see
Fig. 2-2). The length of the string is given in
the table for the respective pool diameter.
