Adjusting the pan and tilt drag

Both the pan and tilt mechanisms on the Head incorporate the patented Vinten lubricated friction (LF) system
to ensure smooth movement of the camera about these axes and are fitted with dials to adjust the drag setting.
The drag adjustment dials are mounted directly on each axis. The pan drag adjustment dial is located
beneath the camera cradle, and the tilt drag adjustment dial is positioned above the connections on the side
of the Head (see Features and Controls on page viii).
Note: The whip-pan facility is not affected by the pan drag setting.
To increase drag, turn the dial clockwise and to decrease drag, turn the dial counter-clockwise as shown in
Figure 13.
