Chapter 3 Setting the Operating System

3.1 Solaris OS

For SE0X7F31X or SE0X7F32X

When the LT260 is used with single-channel 8Gbit/s Fibre Channel cards (SE0X7F31X) or dual-channel 8Gbit/s

Fibre Channel cards (SE0X7F32X), operations are performed with the OS standard device driver.

For SP1X7FAA2X or SP1X7FBA2X

When the LT260 is used with dual-channel 16Gbit/s Fibre Channel cards (SP1X7FAA2X or SP1X7FBA2X), oper-

ations are performed with the OS standard device driver.

Device Drivers

3.1.3.1

Driver Patches

Before using the LT260, make sure to apply the following st driver patches. For the Solaris 11 OS, the st driver

patches are not required.

For the Solaris 10 OS st driver

120011-14 or later patch

To use IBM Spectrum Protect as the backup software, use the IBM Spectrum Protect device driver (TSM device

driver) instead of the st driver. For more details about how to install and set up the driver, refer to the

relevant software manuals.

Getting the Server to Recognize the Device

(1) Check the settings.

Add the descriptions of the device to the st driver setting file (/kernel/drv/st.conf) by using a text editor

(such as vi).
