3.1 System Overview

This section describes the system architecture and features.
System Architecture
The E8000E-X8 is composed of the following subsystems:

All subsystems are placed in integrated chassis.
The functional host subsystem consists of system backplane, LPU, SPU, and SFU. The
subsystem mainly performs data processing function. In addition, the subsystem monitors and
manages all devices in the system, including power modules and fan modules. The diagram of
functional host is shown in
