Required Setup Procedures

Setting up the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant server for basic operation involves these required steps:
1. Connecting the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant to the network and phone system. (See
the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant to the Network on page 16
2. Powering on the Enterprise Redundant. (See

3. Manually assigning the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant two static IP addresses. (See

4. Configuring the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant's Dialogic fax board. (See

5. Joining the fax server to the network domain. Joining the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant to the
network domain is required to import users from Active Directory with the FaxPress Active Directory
Synchronizer. (See
Administrator Guide.) This procedure applies only to Microsoft Windows networks.
6. Taking necessary antivirus and security measures. (See

7. Installing the applications required for attachment conversion. To use the e-mail Gateways or to use
the Drop Directory for production faxing, you'll need to install any applications, such as the Microsoft
Office suite, used frequently by your users. See

8. Installing the FaxPress Plus client on a network workstation. The FaxPress Plus client is the
Windows-based administration and fax transaction utility. (See
the Administrator Guide.) Logged on to FaxPress Plus as Administrator, you'll use FaxPress Plus to
configure the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant fax server, and to create and configure users. If you use
the Web Client Interface to configure the fax server and users, installing the FaxPress Plus client is
not immediately required.
9. Activating the FaxPress Plus software with the Software Activation Key. (See
Plus, the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant Client Software on page 29
10. Configuring the FaxPress Enterprise Redundant Line Settings, Dialing Properties, E-mail settings, and
DNIS settings using FaxPress Plus. (See
