Notes memo. Fax features are available to both local and offsite FaxPress Enterprise users, and attached files can be sent to both fax and email recipients simultaneously.
Sending a fax with the FaxPress Enterprise Mail Template allows the user to enter the recipient’s fax number by selecting an address book entry. Any Address Book entry with an Office Fax number may be used. The Domino server passes the message to the Gateway (either the Email Gateway for SMTP or the Lotus Notes Gateway).
(either the Lotus Notes Gateway or Email Gateway for SMTP) will check each FaxPress Enterprise server until one with a mailbox for the sender is found. The fax is then sent to an outbound fax line on that FaxPress Enterprise. If the sender does not have a FaxPress mailbox, the outgoing fax will fail, unless the Gateway’s Auto Registration feature is enabled.

Enterprise OR install the FaxPress Enterprise Lotus Notes Gateway from the FaxPress Plus Setup CD onto a network workstation. Either the Email Gateway for SMTP or the Lotus Notes Gateway must be used in conjuction with the FaxPress Enterprise Mail Template. The FaxPress Enterprise Mail Template cannot be used by itself.
Lotus Notes 6 even if you’re using the Standard Notes 6 Mail Template. Lotus Notes 6.5 and 7 If you’re running Lotus Notes 6.5 or 7 and using either a standard or custom Notes Mail Template, follow the procedures described in Chapter 3, Integration for Lotus Notes 6.5 and 7.
The Gateway will function without the Domino/FaxPress Integration Script installed on the Domino server, but users will not have access to fax forms in their Notes clients, and will instead have to use a manual fax addressing format to specify fax job options and send faxes. (See Using Manual Addressing to Send Faxes on page 8-15.)

When the Gateway automatically creates a FaxPress Premier account for an email user, it starts at this ID and increments it by one until a unique ID is found, which is assigned to the new user. This is only applicable if you are evaluating the product. Select to Email supervisor about license status enable the daily email sent to notify the administrator the number of days left until the license expires.

You may Name want to have a reference to the supervisor or administrator who is in charge of FaxPress Enterprise administration.
A longer setting will slow down the delivery of faxes; a shorter setting will increase CPU activity related to fax processing. If you set the Scan Period to 60 seconds, every 60 seconds the Gateway will do two things: Log on to each of the configured Incoming FaxPress Servers and check for and process incoming faxes.

If the incoming email passes the “inclusion” test, then the Gateway makes sure the address or domain of the incoming email is not in the exclusion list. If it is in the exclusion list, the email is not processed.
If the email passes the “inclusion” test, the Gateway makes sure the address or domain of the incoming email is not in the exclusion. If it is in the exclusion list, the fax is not processed.
The Gateway looks for the user in the User Exclusion List and if found, ignores the fax. If the user is not found in the User Exclusion List, the Gateway continues the process of sending an email notification to the user.
Email Gateway character set. With Lotus Notes and FaxPress Enterprise integration, any character substitution is typically taken care of on the Lotus Notes side. Your email users will use the substitute character in the fax address string of the the email. When the Email Gateway reads the recipient address, it will interpret the substitute character in the same way that it would interpret the original character.
