F.1 Capabilities
The AFP-300/400, NFS-640, NFS2-640, and NFS-320 fire alarm control panels (FACPs) are capable of supporting LDM annunciator
addresses 01 to 19. All releases of AFP-300/400, NFS-640, NFS2-640, and NFS-320 software can support LDM modules; no special
software is required. The LDM can be assigned to any of the 576 panel annunciation points. Each LDM module covers continuous
groups of eight panel points.
The FACP uses ACS annunciator addresses 01 to 19 when a UDACT is not installed and addresses 01 to 10 with a UDACT installed.
Each address can communicate with one Receive/Transmit device. A maximum of 32 devices can be connected to the ACS output, all
addresses combined.
When installed with the AFP-300/400, NFS-640, NFS2-640, or NFS-320, LDM Series modules can annunciate the status of 99 software
zones and several system control functions. Each lamp driver output is automatically assigned to one and only one system I/O point:
Software Zones
– Intelligent Detectors
– Addressable Monitor and Control Modules
– NBG-12LX Addressable Manual Pull Stations
System Control Switches
– Acknowledge
– Signal Silence
– System Reset
– Drill
F.2 Annunciator Programming
LDM points must be programmed from the FACP before the LDM will function. The AFP-300/400, NFS-640, NFS2-640, and NFS-320
employ the following format for annunciator points:
For programming the Lamp Driver Series into the FACP's memory, for mapping system points and software zones to annunciator points,
and for details about ACS Selection Groups, refer to the appropriate FACP documents referenced in Section 1.3, "Related Documenta-
tion", on page 7.
F.3 NFS2-640 and NFS-320 Connections
The EIA-485 connections are made to TB11 on the CPU2-640 or CPU-320 as shown. 24 VDC power-limited non-resettable power for
the LDM is available from TB10 on the CPU2-640 or CPU-320. Do not use the two pins on TB10 marked "resettable".
For more information on annunciator operation and FACP programming under various specific applications, refer to the NFS2-640 and
NFS-320 documents referenced in Section 1.3, "Related Documentation", on page 7.
