Cutting
Support the work piece in such a way that
pinching does not take place and so that the cut
remains open while cutting.
Check that the blade is not in contact with
anything when the concrete saw is started.
Ease the blade into the material being cut, never
force the blade in.
Move the blade slowly backwards and forwards,
using a small part of the blade's cutting edge.
This reduces the temperature of the blade and
ensures effective cutting.
Be alert to movement of the work piece. Never
cut above shoulder height.
Feed down the concrete saw in line with the
blade. Pressure from the side can damage the
blade and is very dangerous.
Use the concrete saw only for cutting. It is not
designed for prying or shovelling away any object.
Use caution when re-entering a cut.
Adjust the blade guard so that the rear section is
flush with the work piece. Sparks, dust and cut
material are collected up by the guard and led
away from the operator.

Kick back
If the contact with the material is at the front of
the blade the concrete saw will be thrown away
with great force, from the work piece being cut.
Never cut with the upper quadrant of the blade,
it produces very powerful and sudden reactive
forces, which can make the operator loose grip
of the concrete saw.
Pull away
If contact with the material is at the sides of the
blade, the concrete saw tries to pull away from
the operator.
Pinching occurs when the material being cut
closes on the blade. If this happens the saw will
be thrown up and towards the operator with great
force. To avoid pinching support the work piece
in such a way that the cut remains open during
operation.
If the work piece is not securely fixed when
cutting, the work piece can fly away and hit the
operator. To avoid this, always secure the work
piece before operating the machine.
