8 Commissioning

When the power supply has been connected, the unit can
be switched on. The module is then open to access from
the software side.
For the connection between the Positioning Controller
(TwinCAT) and the motor, you need suitable drop cables.
8�1 ESI File
The ESI-file (EtherCAT Slave Information) is required to
integrate a BGE drive controller with EtherCAT interface
in an EtherCAT network.
It is created in the XML description language and has a
standardized format for the description of devices.
The ESI file contains information on:
• Description of the file (name, version, creation date,
etc.)
• General device information (manufacturer name and
code)
• Device name and type, versions
• Description of supported objects and their attributes

In the Dunkermotoren chm-Windows help file
„Knowledgebase.chm" you will find the pin-assignment
for the standard motors, the detailed description of all

The help file provides a familiar browser navigation with
forward and back button, linked cross-references, and a
search function.

8 Inbetriebnahme

Ist die Spannungsversorgung hergestellt, kann das Gerät
eingeschaltet werden. Nun kann der softwareseitige Zugriff
auf das Modul erfolgen.
Für die Verbindung zwischen Positioniersteuerung (Twin-
CAT) und Motor werden passende Dropkabel benötigt.
8�1 ESI-Datei
Die ESI-Datei (EtherCAT Slave Information) wird benöti-
gt, um die BGE Regler mit EtherCAT-Schnittstelle in ein
EtherCAT-Netzwerk einzubinden.
Sie ist in der Beschreibungssprache XML erstellt und
hat ein standardisiertes Format für die Beschreibung
von Geräten.
Die ESI-Datei beinhaltet Informationen über:
• Beschreibung der Datei (Name, Version, Erstel-
lungsdatum, u.a.)
• Allgemeine Geräteinformationen (Herstellername
und -code)
• Gerätename und -typ, Versionen
• Beschreibung der unterstützten Objekte und deren
Attribute

„Informationsdatenbank.chm" finden Sie unter ande-

Parameter (DSA-Parameter) und Beispiele.
Die Hilfedatei bietet eine gewohnte Browsernavigation
mit Vorwärts und Zurück-Button, verlinkte Querverwei-
se, sowie eine Suchfunktion.
