Safety Notes

As with all devices connected to the mains and with heaters or a pressure vessel, care must be
taken when using it to avoid injury. Therefore, you must read this manual thoroughly before
commissioning and follow the safety recommendations. The device may under no
circumstances be used if the operating instructions have not been fully read and fully
understood.
1. Make sure that the local main supply voltage corresponds to the information given on the
type plate on the machine.
2. The installation of the machine should be carried out by authorised specialists according to
the instructions.
3. Plug the machine into a grounded socket only and do not leave it unattended.
4. Do not roll or bend the power cord.
5. Do not use an extension cord / do not use a multiple socket.
6. Place the machine on an even and stable surface. Never place the machine on hot surfaces.
7. Never immerse the machine in water; do not operate the machine with wet hands.
8. The machine should only be used by experienced adult persons.
9. Do not allow children or untrained people to operate or play with the device
10. Do not expose the machine to inclement weather (frost, snow, rain) and do not use it
outdoors.
11. Only use original spare parts.
12. Under no circumstances should water get into the device. If this happens, disconnect the
machine immediately from the power supply (unplug the cable). In this context, it should be
noted that it is important to ensure that no dripping water gets into the device through the
holes and slots in the cover plate. Especially wet cups should not be placed on the machine.
13. If the water is topped up in the tank, make sure that water only gets into the tank and is not
spilled next to it or even into the machine, possibly damaging the electrics and electronics. We
therefore recommend to remove the tank for filling.
14. Ensure no objects - especially those made of metal - may fall into the device.
15. The original packaging (with the pads) should be kept for future use, as this special
packaging provides the best protection against impact during transport.
16. Use carbon dioxide fire extinguishers (CO2) in case of fire. Do not use water or powder fire
extinguishers.
17. The device must not be moved by pulling on the cable. Never pull out the plug by pulling
on the cord or with wet hands.
18. Always unplug the appliance before carrying out maintenance and cleaning work and
when not in use.
19. If the power cord or other electrical or electronic equipment has been damaged, only a
trained person may carry out the repair and must subsequently carry out a safety inspection.
20. If the unit is damaged or has fallen into the unit, it should be switched off immediately and
repaired by an authorised person.
21. The surface of the machine should not come into contact with sharp or rough objects
22. For cleaning, we recommend hot water and a commercially available soft microfibre cloth.
Cleaning with corrosive liquids should also be avoided, especially if the machine has a
coloured panel. Exception: reflective or matt panels which, after peeling off the protective film,
have veils which cannot be removed with water. This veil is glue that has been deposited and
best removed with a gentle solvent.
23. The machine must only be operated with low-limp water, because the use of limescale
water can cause the boiler heater to burn out or the valves to become clogged. To decalcify
the tap water, commercial cartridges can be used according to the manufacturer's defined life.
24. Should it be necessary to decalcify the machine, then no so-called continuous descaling
(de-scaler into the tank and then start a cover) should be made. This is at best ineffective, can
cause damage to health or detached lime residues can enforce the valves. The machine must
be properly decalcified in this case (opening / dismantling of the boiler).
25. Do not cover the oval vents and the vents on the top right of the machine.
