9: Drip tray
The drip tray is used to collect remaining fluids. The metal panel can be shifted
forward, giving access to the black drip tray that can be taken out to clean.
Care must be taken to regularly remove the water from the drip tray so that it
does not overflow. You should not wait until the bowl is full and water is running
underneath the machine. You can wash it in a dishwasher, though his is not
required, the tray is easy to clean by hand. When positioning the drip tray back,
push it under the drain and then push it down until it clicks into place. When
sliding back the panel, be careful not to apply too much force at the end to
prevent scratching the Xenia front housing.
With an optional cup elevation, cups can be brought 3 cm closer to the
portafilter spout, to prevent spilling of coffee fluids to the outer wall of the cups
and into the drip tray.
