    (A2E) offers a simple, plug-and-play device that allows any traditional fax machine to be extended to the etherFAX network. The etherFAX A2E, manufactured by MultiTech, connects existing analog fax machines to the etherFAX network, allowing faxes to be sent and received via the cloud, instead of the PSTN. The device allow organizations to leverage existing IT infrastructure and eliminate the cost and maintenance of fax lines.

    Using DHCP The etherFAX A2E is configured for DHCP. If your network supports DHCP, the device is assigned a local IP address that appears in the etherFAX Client Portal. To verify that the device was assigned a local IP address: Open a web browser and go to https://clients.connect.etherfax.net...

    255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.2.1 Connect directly to the network via an Ethernet cable between the etherFAX A2E and the computer. Open a web browser and go to http://192.168.2.1. Log in using the default credentials: Username: admin Password: password Select Settings > Network from the left menu.

    Dial the fax number and send the fax. The analog fax device connects to the etherFAX A2E via the RJ-11 cable and transmits the fax image. The etherFAX A2E securely pushes the fax to the etherFAX network, which sends the fax to its final destination.

    Client Portal – Use for DID provisioning and for configuring multiple devices. Managing the Device via Local Device Web Portal The etherFAX A2E has a local device portal that you can access via a standard HTTP connection to the device's IP address on port 80. To access this portal: Open a web browser and go to the device's IP address (for example, http://10.0.0.100).
  • Page 11 Disable transmission reports on the analog fax device as the etherFAX A2E generates these reports. Caller ID Configures the caller ID for etherFax A2E to use when sending a fax. Note: Configure Caller ID as a valid 10 digit toll number. Failure to do so results in higher transmission failure rates.

    Checking for Firmware Updates To confirm that you are using the current firmware, click Check for Update. The etherFAX A2E device contacts the etherFAX service to determine if a new version of firmware is available. If a new version is available, an Install Now button appears.
  • Page 15 CONFIGURING THE DEVICE Device Inventory Report You can export a device inventory report for all etherFAX A2E devices to a CSV or Excel file. To do this: Click either CSV or Excel in the top right of the A2E Devices section.
  • Page 16 Assigning DIDs/TFNs to a Device You can assign any number currently provisioned to your etherFAX account to an etherFAX A2E device. Assigning a number to the device allows it to receive faxes sent to the specified number(s) and print them out via the attached analog fax device.
