C. READING PRESSURES
1. Light the heater. With the heater operating on its
highest setting, the pressure gauge should read the
pressure specified on the dataplate or in the
specification section of this owner's manual.
2. Does the pressure reading at the inlet and outlet
of the safety control agree with that given on the
dataplate? If so, no further checking or adjustment is
required. Proceed to section D.
3. If the inlet pressures do not agree with that specified
on the dataplate, then check the following:
-- Improper regulator for heater.
-- Regulator out of adjustment. (Replace if
necessary).
-- Blockage in gas hose.
-- Insufficient size or quantity of propane gas
supply containers.
4. If the outlet pressure does not agree with that
specified on the dataplate, adjustment of the gas
control valve is required.
• Loosen the screw on the gas control valve face panel.

• Insert a 5/64 flat head screwdriver into the panel slot and
pry inward to release the panel from its tab. See Fig. 22.
• Pull the face panel forward to expose the outlet
pressure adjustment screw. See Fig. 23.

• Insert the 5/64 screwdriver into the gas control valve
adjustment. Increase (clockwise) or decrease (counter
clockwise). See Fig. 23.
• Install the gas valve face plate back onto the gas control
valve when completed.
D. COMPLETION
1. Once the proper pressure has been confirmed, close fuel
supply valves.
2. Allow heater to burn off fuel remaining in gas supply line.
3. Remove the gauge and hose from the gas control valve.
4. Tighten the pressure port screws. Open the fuel supply
valve and check for gas leaks with appropriate leak
detectors.
5. Light the heater and check for proper operation.
