Operation

Procedure for shallow water cruising
1.
Move the remote control lever to the
neutral position.
2.
Push the "
" (up) side of the power trim
and tilt switch to tilt the outboard motor
up slightly to the desired position.
WARNING! Using the power trim and
tilt switch on the bottom cowling while
the boat is moving or engine is on
could increase the risk of falling over-

To return the outboard motor to the nor-
mal running position, push the "
(down) side of the power trim and tilt
switch to tilt the outboard motor down
slowly.

Operating in other conditions

Operating in salt water
After operating in saltwater, brackish water,
or water high in other minerals, flush the cool-
ing system with fresh water to minimize cor-
rosion and clogging of the cooling water
passages with deposits. Also, rinse the exte-
rior of the outboard motor with fresh water.
