1.1.4 Explosion protection marking

According to EU Directive 1999/92/EC, the user/machine end-user has to classify
potentially explosive areas into zones. The following table shows the corresponding
zones for equipment groups and categories.
The manifold block may only be used in the areas and zones which correspond to the
relevant equipment group and category.

(= equipment group II) are likely to occur.
Corresponds to zone 1 according to Directive 1999/92/EC.
High level of protection.
Gc
Potentially explosive atmospheres, in which explosive gasses, mists or vapors
(= equipment group II) are unlikely or occur only infrequently or for a short
period.
Corresponds to zone 2 according to Directive 1999/92/EC.
Normal level of safety.

Potentially explosive atmospheres, in which explosive dust/air mixtures
(= equipment group II) are present continuously or for long periods or
frequently.
Corresponds to zone 20 according to Directive 1999/92/EC.
Very high level of protection.

Potentially explosive atmospheres, in which explosive dust/air mixtures (=
equipment group II) are likely to occur.
Corresponds to zone 21 according to Directive 1999/92/EC.
High level of protection.

Potentially explosive atmospheres, in which explosive air/dust mixtures (=
equipment group II) are unlikely or occur only infrequently or for a short
period only.
Corresponds to zone 22 according to Directive 1999/92/EC.
Normal level of safety.
