REPLACING THE OPTICAL MECHANISM UNIT

1. Removing the optical mechanism unit
1-1. Remove the 12 rear cover lock screws, 8 terminal panel lock screws and 3 power PWB unit lock screws.
Detach the rear cover.
1-2. Remove the 2 vent fan assembly lock screws and detach the vent fan assembly.
1-3. Disconnect the vent fan connector (FE) from the fan relay PWB.
1-4. Disconnect the connector from the power PWB unit. Remove the screw and draw out the power PWB unit
assembly.
1-5. Detach the lead angles (PA), (PB), (PE), (PF), (PG), (PH), (PI) and (PJ) from the power PWB unit.
1-6. Remove the 4 choke transformer angle lock screws and detach the choke transformer.
1-7. Remove the 2 sound out PWB fixture screws and detach the sound out PWB.

1-8. Remove the 2 lens cover lock screws and detach the lens cover.
1-9. Disconnect the connectors (EA), (LA), (MA) and (MB) from the output PWB.
1-10. Remove the 4 lock screws off the optical mechanism unit tilt stand assembly and detach the optical mechanism
unit.
(The 4 lock screws are located: two at the back of the set, one at the lower right behind the lamp door, and
one at the bottom behind the front suction air filter assembly (refer to 2. on page 11).)
1-11. Remove the 5 screws off the shielding case (top) of the output PWB on top of the optical mechanism unit.
1-12. Remove the 11 screws off the output PWB and detach the output PWB.
1-13. Remove the 5 screws off the shielding case (bottom) of the output PWB and detach the shielding case
(bottom).
1-14. Take out the lamp box. (Refer to "2. Replacing the lamp" on page 13.)
1-15. Take out the ballast units (each at the front and the back). (Refer to 2. on page 11 and 3. on page 12.)
