Requirements
The operating system on the imagePRESS Server is Linux.
Ethernet connection requirements
The imagePRESS Server network port supports the standard Ethernet network speeds and cable categories listed in
the following table.
Network speed
10BaseT
100BaseTX
1000BaseT
The network port supports the following Ethernet cable specifications:
•
Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) cable
•
Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) cable
•
Straight-through cable (patch cable)
Network requirements
When the imagePRESS Server is connected to a network, it behaves as a networked printer. Connecting to a live
network allows the imagePRESS Server to query the network for zones, servers, and server-based queues.
Supported network protocols
The imagePRESS Server is compatible with multiple network protocols. Client computers that do not have any of the
compatible protocols can send print jobs through a print server that has a supported protocol.
The imagePRESS Server can process concurrent protocols over the same connection. It automatically switches to the
correct protocol and handles connections simultaneously.
