Introduction
The Model 4299-4 Dual-Unit Rack-Mount Kit contains all of the hardware to mount two half-rack instruments in
a standard 48.3 cm (19 in.) rack (either a Keithley Instrument or Keysight unit).

Model 4299-4 Dual-Unit Rack-Mount Kit Installation Instructions Installation precautions Observe the following safety precautions while installing instruments. Turn off instrument power and unplug all cables before installing an instrument in a rack. Model 4299-4 Dual-Unit Rack-Mount Kit Installation Instructions Install mounting hardware Install the mounting hardware on the opposite sides of each instrument, as shown in the following figures. To install the mounting hardware on the instruments: 1. Place the instruments side-by-side, in the same position that they will be installed in the rack. 2. - Page 5 Model 4299-4 Dual-Unit Rack-Mount Kit Installation Instructions 3. Secure a hinge (2602-328) to both instruments using two Phillips flat-head screws (#8-32 × 3/8 PFH) on each, and make sure the knuckle of the hinge is facing the front of the instruments, as shown in the following figure.

Model 4299-4 Dual-Unit Rack-Mount Kit Installation Instructions Prepare the rack Install the cage nuts (FA-274) into the front-rack holes for the front rack-ears in the rails. The rack holes selected determine the placement of the instrument in the rack. Cage nuts for the front rack-ears should be installed into the rails at the same hole spacing (vertical height). - Page 7 Model 4299-4 Dual-Unit Rack-Mount Kit Installation Instructions To install the instruments: 1. While supporting the instruments, slide the instruments into the rack and align them to the front rack rails. 2. Secure the instruments in the rack with four Phillips truss-head screws (#10-32 × 5/8 PHTRSH), as shown in the following figure.
