4.1 BASIC SETUP OF CONTROLLER including STANDARD FEATURES
Your WebHandler
necessary to make any changes except tension calibration and operation tuning. Use this section to verify the
configuration, or to reconfigure the controller if your application requirements change.
A. CONFIGURATION
In this section you will configure the WebHandler for use in your application. To do this, you go through the
menus and change certain items to fit your application.
1. Choose the tension zone in which you will be using your controller by navigating to Setup Menus->Set
Tension Zone, and choosing

B. SETUP OF BASIC STANDARD FEATURES
In this section you can choose to activate standard features for use in your application.
1. Normally, your controller will power up with Tension turned Off. If you want to change this so that it
powers up with Tension turned On (output enabled), navigate to Setup Menus->
select On.
2. Your controller will also power up in Auto mode. If you want to change this so that it powers up in
Manual mode, navigate to Setup Menus->
C. SETUP OF ADVANCED STANDARD FEATURES
1. Emergency Stop
for wiring). The ESTOP feature is useful to stop large rolls of material when an external switch or
contact is closed. It requires the external switch or contact to be connected to TB101 pins 4 and 6 as
shown in Fig.11 in Section 2.5.2. You will also need to configure your ESTOP output for either zero or
full output by applying jumper JP1 on pins 1 and 2 as shown. These pins are located in the lower right
corner of the control PCB. For full output, set the jumper on pins 2 and 3.
When ESTOP is activated, the controller will now produce either zero or full output, as you have
configured above. Also, the second display line will flash "ESTOP ACTIVE". When the contact closure
is removed, the controller will remain in Tension On mode, with output enabled. When you exit ESTOP
mode, the second line will revert to its normal display.
Model 3 digital controller has been properly configured at the factory. It should not be
