C. PULSE TACHOMETER OPTION CARD CONNECTION AND CALIBRATION
The Pulse Tach card is only used when your machine has pulse tachometers or encoders to measure speed.
Figure 19 - PULSE TACHOMETER CARD
Verify that a pulse tachometer card is installed in the option card slot J102 on the Terminal Board located in
the base of the WebHandler.
Verify that your DC Line Speed tachometer is connected to Terminal Board TB102 pins 1 (Signal+) and 3
(Signal -). If diameter Compensated Line Speed Follower or Taper Diameter Calculation is to be used, you
may verify that your DC Roll Tachometer is connected to TB102 pins 6 (signal+) and 4 (signal-). See Figure
12.
There are two +10 Vdc outputs on the card, named
LTACH
and
RTACH
. Both are needed for the Taper
option, but only
is needed for the speed-actuated Soft Start function or Line Speed Follower
LTACH
function.
LTACH
refers to the line (machine) speed pulse tach.
RTACH
refers to the rewind roll speed pulse
tach.

The following procedure sets the outputs of the card to +10 volts at maximum machine speed.
