V1.0
INSTALL A SANDING SLEEVE
The sanding sleeves will fit on the sanding drum of the same
diameter. The exception is the 1/2 in. sanding sleeve that fits
directly on the spindle (#55).
Refer to Table 1 during installation for the correct table insert
and upper spindle washer combination.
1.
Place the 2-3/4 in. dust washer (#6) at the bottom of the
spindle (#55). The ridged side faces upward.
2.
Insert a sanding drum (#4) onto the spindle and slide down
until it contacts the dust washer.
3.
Slide the matching sanding sleeve (#3) over the sanding
drum until it sits directly on the dust washer.
3.1 Do not use a drum with the 1/2 in. sanding sleeve. Slide
the sanding sleeve directly on the spindle.
4. Slide the matching table insert (#5) over the sanding drum/
sleeve and set it into the recessed rim on the working table (#7).
5.
Place the matching upper spindle washer (#2) onto the spindle.
6.
Screw the hex nut (#1) onto the spindle and tighten enough
to slightly expand the sanding drum. The drum will press
against the sanding sleeve to provide grip during use.
6.1 Loosen the nut (#1) when before replacing the sanding
sleeve and retighten after the replacement is in place.
6.2 Do not overtighten the nut when using a 1/2 in. sanding
sleeve. Only tighten enough to prevent the sleeve from
sliding upward when being applied against the workpiece.

DUST COLLECTION PORT

A 2-1/2 in. dust collection port (C) is located at the rear of the
spindle sander's base for a hose. The dust will be sucked down
through the hole containing the spindle.
This will remove most, but not all, of dust generated during
the sanding operation. Additional cleaning will be required
as needed.
