tension, and rem ove the belt.
6. Rem ove the air pump idle pulley
bracket.
7. Rem ove the water pump retaining
bolts , then rem ove the water pump
assem bly.
F o r R K s e r ie s :
1. Drain the coolant.
2. R em ove the radiator outlet and inlet
hoses and the by-pass h o s e .
3. L oosen the fan belt tension, and
rem ove the belt.
4. Rem ove the fan and the fan pulley.
5. Rem ove the water pump retaining
bolts, then rem ove the w ater pump
assem bly.
Disassembly
Fluid Coupling
1. Rem ove the w ater
from the water pump body.
2. Rem ove the fluid
from the fluid
c a s e .
3. P la c e the fluid coupling pulley in
a vise protecting the pulley with
a suitable m aterial. Do not deform
the pulley when securing in a vise .

T o rem ove the pulley with the fluid
coupling bearing
w ater pump bearing shaft, use a
bolt with the thread diameter of
10 mm,
and thread pitch of 1.25.
S c r e w in the bolt into the pulley,
and rem ove
fluid coupling
the water pump bearing shaft.

Water Pump

1. Rem ove the water outlet, and r e ­
move the thermostat.
2. Rem ove
from the w ater pump body fo r the
direct drive ty p e .
3. Rem ove
seat from the w ater pump bearing
shaft using the Water Pump Rotor
Puller 09239-40010 for the direct
drive ty p e .
