b) Commissioning

The vehicle must be finished before you can drive it (see corresponding chapter of these operating
instructions). E.g. a steering servo, speed controller and remote control system (receiver) must be installed.
Always observe all safety information included in it as well as any other information!
• Only use a suitable speed controller and drive battery for the vehicle. Never operate the speed controller with a
mains adapter, not even for test purposes.
This vehicle is suitable only for use with a NiMH drive battery with 6 cells (nominal voltage of drive battery
7.2 V) or LiPo drive battery with 2 cells (nominal voltage of drive battery 7.4 V).
When using a drive battery with more cells, there is a danger of fire from overheating of the motor. Apart
from this, the vehicle's drive will be overloaded and damaged (e.g. differential). Loss of guarantee/warranty!
Important: If you are using a LiPo drive battery, the speed controller used must have undervoltage recognition
with switch-off function. Deep discharge damages LiPo batteries!
• Always switch on the receiver first when taking the vehicle into operation. Only then must the vehicle's drive battery
be connected with the speed controller and the speed controller switched on. Otherwise, the vehicle may show
unpredictable responses!
Place the vehicle on an appropriate support before connecting the drive battery so that the wheels can
turn freely.
Switch off the speed controller.
Switch on the transmitter if you haven't done it already. Check its function (e.g. operation display of the
transmitter).
Put the trimming for the throttle/brake function at the transmitter into the centre position.
Now connect a fully charged drive battery to the speed controller.
Hold the vehicle, but do not reach into the drive unit. There is a risk of serious injury! Never hold the vehicle
by its wheels!
Now switch on the speed controller.
If your receiver has a fail-safe function, programme it now. The fail-safe function is activated if the receiver
does not recognise any valid transmitter signal (e.g. distance between vehicle and transmitter too large).
Please note the operating instructions of your remote control system.
• Check that the vehicle reacts to remote control commands as expected (steering and drive) before taking it from the
support and placing it on the ground with its wheels.
