1-2-3. Functions and Locations of Sensors

1 Threading FG sensor
This sensor detects the rotation speed of the threading
motor.
The FG output signal of this detection sensor is input
to the servo circuit to control the threading speed so
that the tape is not damaged during threading.
2 Tape top sensor
This sensor detects the tape end when running in the
reverse direction.
3 Threading-end sensor
4 Unthreading-end sensor
These sensors detect when the S/T drawer guides and
S/T sliders reach the threading-end or unthreading-end
position by the rotation angle of the gear.
5 L cassette sensor
This sensor detects whether the size of the inserted
cassette is an L size cassette.
6 L cassette REC INHIBIT sensor
This is the REC inhibit plug sensor switch for large (L
size) digital cassettes.

7, 8, 9 Format ID sensors
These sensors identify the format of the cassette tape
inserted into the unit.
!/ Cleaning tape recognition sensor
This sensor recognizes whether the cassette tape
inserted into the unit is a cleaning cassette.
!- Condensation sensor
This sensor detects the presence of condensation in the
unit.
!= S cassette REC INHIBIT sensor
This is a REC inhibit plug sensor switch for small
digital cassettes.
![ Tape end sensor
This sensor detects the tape end when running in the
forward direction.
!] S tension sensor
This sensor detects the position of the tension arm, and
controls the reel torque during recording and playback
to keep the tension of S tape constant.
