4.2.4) Changing the motor brushes (See Fig. 13)
After disconnecting the electric plug, check the degree of wear of the brushes; if necessary replace
them as follows:
– Using a 4 mm Allen wrench, remove the screws holding the two motor covers.
– Using a 3 mm Allen key unscrew the screw (V), lift the spring that holds the brush (S) and remove
it from its housing.
– Reposition the new brush by tightening up to the end the screw complete with washer.
– Reassemble the two protective covers.
4.3) PREPARATION FOR LONG INACTIVITY
– Using a clean cloth, wet it with oil and rub all the metal parts of the machine.
– Store the machine in a dry place in its metal case (see § 6), protecting it from knocks and con-
tamination.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

POSSIBLE CAUSE
Switch (13) in "0" position.
Loss of electrical supply.
Intervention of the electric safety
device (08).
Fuse is faulty.
Motor brushes are worn.
Loss of electrical supply and con-
sequent intervention of the safety
device.
Motor overheating and fuse
intervention.
Screws loose.
Striker or anvil worn.
Selector (15) in wrong position.
Electrical extension cable not
suitable.
Selector (07) in "N" position.
REMEDY
Move switch to "I" position.
Check the proper connection of the electric plug (06)
to the electrical supply.
Press the "RESET" button on the device.
Replace the fuse (see § 3.8).
Change motor brushes (see § 4.2.4).
Check the safety device and reset (see § 3.6).
Replace the fuse (see § 3.8).
Tighten the lock nuts.
Check for wear (see § 4.2.1)
Increase the torque using the selector (see § 3.3)
Check the characteristics of the extension cable.
Use selector (see § 3.4).
